So, here are 10 such jobs that will disappear in the next 10 years or will be reduced considerably in the coming years.
1. Cashier - Supermarket
The number 1 job on this list is Cashier. Which are very common in supermarkets today. Such technology has been developed in the present which can run a supermarket without a cashier.
Amazon has recently launched a retail store called AmazonGo, where customers enter the store and whatever item or product they have to buy, they pick it up from the shelf, put it in their bags and exit the store. As soon as they get out, money is deducted from their account as they have done shopping.
There are different types of sensors installed to find out from where you have picked the product and what is its price. In such a situation, the work of the cashier is completely destroyed.
And in the coming time, many more companies can implement this process. And even if this technology is not successful, a smart AI robot can easily do this work. Companies no need to worry about the Human Errors and their salaries. Also, It is a one time investment. Robots do the work of Humans faster than Humans.
2. Telemarketers
Telemarketers are people who call potential customers and sell or advertise their product or service. Telemarketing has not been an effective way of advertising in modern times. Because, in this process a person has to call another person and explain his product and sell it, which is going to be replaced with full digital marketing. Where, with the help of algorithms it is found out which product you are interested in seeing and buying. So, you are shown the same kind of ads.
You must have noticed many times that, if you search a product from Amazon, Flipkart, or any online shopping websites, then the next day you see the ads of the same product on all over your internet. So, the algorithm knows which product you are interested in and it will show you the same ads.
This method of advertising is cheaper than telemarketing as The same Ad can be shown to many people at the same time. But it takes a lot of time for a Telemarketer to call many people and sell his product unless he is very fast and good at closing the deal. Hence, this is possibly one of the jobs that will disappear in the next 10 years.
3. Accountant
The job of an accountant is to record all the transactions throughout the day and keep them in one place. And this work can be done easily through softwares.
Few years ago there was a boom of BITCoin. Its back bone was BlockChain technology. The job of a blockchain is to record transactions. And those transactions are full proof, you cannot make any changes by going back dated.
So, in the coming 10 to 15 years, accountants will be replaced by software technology because it saves both time and money. There are so many accounting softwares in the market and many businesses are already using them. And those businesses don’t need accountants anymore.
4. Car Drivers
Self-driving cars are the future. I would not say that they will come in the future, but they have already come.
The company of Elon Musk has already made self-driving cars. Within one and a half years, this technology will become perfect and self-driving cars are going to be seen on the roads soon. Self-driving cars will perform better than humans.
The simple reason is, A person can get tired of driving a car, he can sleep, he can be distracted but not a software that is running the vehicle and has different types of sensors installed. 5. Travel Agents
If you ask yourself when you had last booked your flight ticket or train ticket or any other travel tickets from a travel agent, then you might not even remember. The preparation to replicate the travel agents is almost done.
Today there are many big websites like Airbnb, MakeMytrip, IRCTC, Redbus which allow you to book flights, trains, bus tickets at discounted rates. Also, they provide you the platform to plan your complete holiday travel booking with good discounted travel packages.
So, there will be no need for a middleman or a travel agent in the future who used to bring both customers and service providers near for the booking or transaction. There will be no work of a travel agent when you are booking your travel tickets through a website or software.
6. Bank Tellers & Cashiers
Today there are so many activities related to your bank that you can do online or through your smartphones. Like, checking your current balance, transferring the amount to another account, applying for a loan, withdrawing the hard cash etc.
Also, you can do online shopping, mobile recharge, Electricity Bill payment where you can directly pay online through your bank account. So, in such a situation where the job of a bank teller is to take-cash and give-cash has become very less in today’s time.
However, we still see Cashiers and Tellers in the bank, but in the coming few years, there will be a considerable reduction in these jobs. As India is moving towards the cashless economy, it is safe to assume that the future will see reduction of bank tellers’ jobs and the other banking jobs. Because, you hardly have to go to the bank for any work, you can do all the other work sitting at home by yourself. Even cash deposit machines are available today in most of the 2-tier and 3-tier cities in India.
The fact is, our older generation and the people from the rural areas are yet to be exposed to these services and learn to use them. But, the future generation will be easily able to learn, and all these online banking activities will be quite common in the next 10-15 years.
7. Farming
In earlier times the farmer used to run a plow, which was a manual process. Then in today’s time, tractors are running a lot, so farmers save a lot of time and money too.
Now in the coming ten years, we will see that farming is being done by sitting in one room and controlling the rest of the machines by remote control. There have been many machines developed where there is no need for humans and only one person is doing all this work through remote control.
Many developed countries have already started using this technology efficiently. Hence, we shouldn’t be surprised if farming will be one of the jobs that will disappear in the next 10 years.
8. Lawyers
According to a recent research by Deloitte, by 2030, the jobs of millions of lawyers will be over. The reason for this is that the day-to-day work of a lawyer is very repetitive, such as drafting contracts or preparing other legal documents that a software can do more quickly and money than a lawyer.
Many such softwares have already been developed and are also implemented in some places where most of the common & repetitive jobs of a lawyer can be done easily and quickly through a software. And if it is implemented worldwide, then many jobs will be lost.

At one point of time, the Postal Department was the most profitable department in India. But today this department is completely into loss.

10. Desktop Publishers
Desktop publishers use publishing software to create page layouts, check preliminary and final proofs for errors and make necessary corrections.
If you are a desktop publisher then it is highly possible that you will be out of your job in the coming few years.
